RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team suffered its second consecutive one goal loss today, as the Cavaliers fell to the Arcadia University Knights 1-0 at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The nonconference loss dropped the Blue and White to 1-4 on the season.
Though the opening 45 minutes remained scoreless, both teams created solid scoring chances. The clubs combined for 10 shots and seven corner kicks before the break, but both goaltenders were up to the challenge.
Cabrini freshman
Alivia Dietsch recorded three of her four saves in the first half, while Arcadia's Veronica Willig posted a pair.
The score sheet remained blank until the 69th minute when Arcadia senior Kim Canfield's shot found the back of the net.
The Blue and White never panicked, instead it turned up the offensive pressure. In the match's final 20 minutes, Cabrini fired seven of its 14 shots, including attempts by junior
Dana Peterson and freshman
Taylor Tralie that forced Willig to make saves.
Peterson and fellow junior
Meghan Martin accounted for six of the Cavaliers' shots on the afternoon, one more than Tralie.
The Blue and White will look to snap its losing skid on Wednesday, when it travels to Center Valley, Pa. to face DeSales University (1-3-1). The action is slated to get underway at 4 p.m.
