RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team suffered its first back to back losses of the season with today's 3-2 loss to Albright College. The nonconference loss dropped the Blue and White to 3-4 on the season.
While the Cavaliers fell behind in the match's third minute, the club rallied to even the score in the 11th minute. Senior
Christian Martin's long ball sprung sophomore
A.J. Bishop on a breakaway for Bishop's fourth tally of the campaign.
The score remained 1-1 through the halftime break, but a three minute span of the second half doomed the Cavaliers. Albright broke the deadlock in the 51st minute and doubled its advantage in the 54th as a defensive miscue led to a Cabrini own goal.
Cabrini got back into the match in the 67th minute as Bishop found fellow sophomore
Bobby Kane for Kane's third goal of the season. The Cavaliers built several scoring chances late in the match, but couldn't find the right combination for the game tying tally.
The Cavaliers outshot Albright 13-10, including seven shots on goals. Bishop led the Blue and White with four attempts on the day, one more than Kane and two more than senior
Rey Jimenez and freshman
Diego Ramirez.
Junior goaltender
R.J. Pino recorded three saves on the day.
The Blue and White return to action on Saturday when it travels to Delaware Valley College (2-3-1). The action gets underway at 12 noon.
