RADNOR, Pa. – Senior
Amy Guarino and freshman
Anne-Marie Jones combined for 25 kills and 20 digs, as the Cabrini volleyball team topped Haverford College 3-0 tonight at Nerney Field House. The 25-19, 25-20, 25-23 nonconference victory improved the Cavaliers to 7-5 on the season.
Both Guarino and Jones recorded double-doubles in the victory, with Jones tallying 15 kills, five more than Guarino, and both notching 10 digs. Junior setter

Cabrini jumped out to an early lead in the opening set but Haverford rallied. The Blue and White advantage grew to 15-8 but a 10-3 Haverford run evened the score at 18. A Fords' attack error put the Cavaliers back into the lead before the club took six of the last seven points for a 25-19 set victory.
The Fords took the court for the second set with renewed vigor, scoring 10 of the opening 14 points. The Cavaliers battled back, eventually tying the score at 16-16. Cabrini earned a bit of breathing room as it built a 21-18 lead on the serve of
Amy Guarino. Two late points, including one of
Kelly Guarino's two service aces gave the Blue and White an insurmountable 24-19 lead.
Cabrini fell behind early in the third set, as Haverford grew its advantage to a 14-8. The Fords held their six point lead until late in the set. Trailing 21-15 the Blue and White began its comeback. A Haverford service error returned the serve to the Sokolovich.
The sophomore served Cabrini to within 21-20, highlighted by one of her two service aces in the match. A late timeout called by the Cavaliers refocused the club down the stretch, as the Blue and White rallied to take five of the set's final six points.
Junior Meg O'Day led Haverford (5-6) with 13 kills.
The Blue and White will hit the road on Saturday, as it visits Bethlehem, Pa. for the Moravian College Tri-Meet. Cabrini will meet the host Greyhounds (6-8) at 1:00 p.m. before facing Bryn Mawr College (6-4) at 3:00 p.m.
