Keys, Decker Enter Record Book in Women's Basketball Win

RADNOR, Pa. – Seniors Amber Keys and Megan Decker entered the Cabrini record book tonight, as the Cavaliers scored an 87-32 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University at Nerney Field House. The Cavaliers' fourth consecutive win improved the club to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Entering the game just four points shy of 1,000, the Blue and White wasted little time in getting Keys the points she needed.  Following a blocked shot and a defensive rebound, the senior connected on a short jumper in the paint for her milestone bucket at the 18:12 mark.

The senior became the 11th Cavalier in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau.

Just a few minutes later, Decker joined her classmate in the record book. The senior claimed her 500th career board at the 15:53 mark, securing the second of her eight offensive rebounds on the night, becoming the 17th Cavalier to secure 500 career boards.

Following Decker's rebound, junior Kristina Startare hit a jumper to give the Blue and White a commanding 13-0 lead, sending the Cavaliers to a comfortable start.

The Blue and White held the Gators to just 9-30 shooting in the opening half and turned 17 Notre Dame first half turnovers into 18 points, as Cabrini built a 42-18 advantage after 20 minutes of action.

Thirteen of the 14 Cavaliers who saw action tonight recorded at least one point, including six who tallied at least eight points.

Keys and sophomore Tayler Holmes led the way with 14 points each.  The senior also added four steals and matched a career high with five blocked shots. Holmes also matched a career high with four steals.

Decker finished the night with 13 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore Meghan Horn posted 10 points in 12 minutes of action.  Junior Mo O'Connell and freshman Kate Skalski added eight points each.

The Blue and White dominated the painted area, outrebounding Notre Dame 55-38 and built a 44-16 advantage in points in the paint.

Freshman Allyson Whitacre led the Gators (3-10, 1-5 CSAC) with 10 points, while fellow rookie Zaria Comer added eight points.  Senior Marylu Ortiz grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
