Meet ResultsBRADFORD, Pa. - The Cabrini swim teams opened AMCC action today at Pitt-Bradford. The women's team improved to 2-1 after its 144-104 win, while the men dropped to 1-2 following their 135-126 loss to the Panthers. The quartet of juniors Moira Prior and Christina Melchiorre and sophomores Candace Brown and Casey Merrill placed first in the 400 yard medley relay in 4:35.85.
Melchiorre notched a pair of first place finishes for the Blue and White, as the junior scored wins in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle in 56.78 and 2:07.65, respectively.
Merrill placed first in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:36.62, while junior Bella Badolato came in second with a time of 3:24.05. Merrill also added a win in the 400 yard individual medley, reaching the wall in 5:24.80.
Freshman Marissa Loro finished second in the 500 yard freestyle in 6:03.89, while sophomore Brooke Hagan and junior Allie Stein placed third and fourth in 6:13.77 and 6:21.87, respectively.
In the 400 yard freestyle relay, Hagan, Loro, Melchiorre and Brown finished first, as the quartet reached the wall in 4:05.93.
On the men's side, junior Todd Walker led the Cavaliers with victories in the 200 yard freestyle in 1:53.18 and the 200 yard backstroke in 2:04.35. The junior also finished first in the 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 55.93.
Junior Hassan David Goines Jr. won the 200 yard breaststroke, after reaching the wall in 2:27.16. In the 50 yard freestyle, Goines scored a time of 23:11, good for first place, while sophomores Rich Giuliani and Nick Erick placed second and third in 23:57 and 28:35, respectively.
Giuliani added a win in the 100 yard freestyle, as the second year swimmer finished in 50.40.
Senior Sean Tallon, junior Chris Moore and freshman Serrano Brown earned second place finishes in the 1,000 yard freestyle, 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard breaststroke, respectively.
The Cabrini swim teams are back in action Saturday, as the Blue and White takes on King's College and Cedar Crest in a tri-meet in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m.
