ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team moved into first place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference today, as it topped Cedar Crest 3-0.
With the win, Cabrini extended its CSAC unbeaten streak to 30 matches and improved to 8-0-2 in the CSAC, 8-5-3 overall.
With one match remaining in the regular season, the Cavaliers have 26 in the league standings, one point ahead of Gwynedd Mercy. The Cavaliers will host Immaculata on Thursday, the final day of the regular season, while Gwynedd Mercy hosts Rosemont.
The Blue and White did the majority of its damage in today's opening 45 minutes, as it outshot the Falcons 12-1 and earned six of its 10 corner kicks before the halftime break.
Sophomore
Taylor Tralie scored the first of her two goals on the day in the 12th minute, converting a pass from classmate
Lisette Hrapmann.
Senior
Devon Miller extended the lead in the 20th minute, as she turned a pass from fellow senior
Julianna Ardire into her sixth goal of the campaign.
Less than two minutes later, Tralie notched her fifth goal of the season, an unassisted tally.
The Blue and White built a 14-7 advantage in shots in the win, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Seniors
Kaitlyn Cooper and
Meghan Martin led Cabrini with three shots each, while Miller and Tralie added two apiece.
Sophomore goaltender
Alivia Dietsch recorded two saves to earn her third shutout of the season.
Kassandra Miller tallied three of Cedar Crest's (4-11-2, 0-10 CSAC) seven shots, while goaltender Shelby Szoke notched six saves in the loss.
Cabrini will celebrate the careers of its seven seniors on Thursday, as the Cavaliers host Immaculata University (3-12-2, 3-6-1 CSAC) for the regular season finale for both clubs.
Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
