LANCASTER, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey season came to an end tonight, as the Cavaliers suffered a 5-0 loss at No. 5 Franklin & Marshall College in the openign round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The loss closed the Blue and White's campaign with an overall record of 12-9.
Tonight's defeat also ends the careers of Cabrini's eight seniors,

Ally Fiorelli,
Gabby Glenning,
Meghan Loughman,
Danielle Palatano,
Tiffany Phillips,
Kate Stevens and
Jen Webb.
Winners of 44 total games, including 25 Colonial States Athletic Conference victories, this group has led the Cavaliers to four consecutive conference championship games and the 2015 CSAC championship.
In their 317 combined appearances in the Blue and White, these ladies have accumulated 319 total points on 128 goals and 63 assists, along with 14 saves.
The Cavaliers fell behind midway through the first quarter before surrendering a second goal in the 30th minute.
Despite trailing 2-0 at the break, Cabrini created several first half scoring chances, with all three of the Blue and White's shots on target. Both teams also earned a pair of first half penalty corners.
Diplomats extended their lead in the 54th minute and iced the victory with goals in the 64th and 68th minutes.
Franklin & Marshall recorded 14 shots to seven for the Blue and White, including an 8-6 cushion in shots on goal. Cabrini also earned 10 penalty corners to five fof the Diplomats, with eight coming in the second half.
Farrell and junior
Kylie McDevitt led the Cavaliers with two shots each. Sophomore goaltender
Taylor Bookman notched three saves in the loss.
Sarah Walsh led Franklin & Marshall (17-3) with two goals, while Clare Wirth and Sydney Cole added a goal and an assist each. Goaltender Illiana Santangelo earned the shutout with six saves.
The Diplomats will visit No. 3 Middlebury (6-2) in Saturday's second round.
