GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Cabrini women's basketball team fell to 0-2 on the young season after tonight's 56-48 loss against the host Ospreys at the Stockton University Tip-Off Tournament.

Kristina Startare and sophomore
Sabrina Hackendorn posted matching double-doubles with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Startare added three steals. Senior
Meghan Martin tallied eight points off the bench for the Cavaliers.
The Blue and White controlled the glass, outrebounding the Ospreys 54-43, with 32 boards coming on the offensive glass. Despite owning the offensive boards, the Cavaliers mustered just seven second chance points.
Cabrini shot just 22.2% from the field, hitting just 16-72 from the floor, including 5-19 from three point range.
The Cavaliers got off to a good start, scoring the final six points of the first quarter to build an 11-6 cushion after 10 minutes. The lead grew to seven points on Hackendorn's jumper three minutes into the second quarter.
Stockton kept the game tight, evening the score at 18-18 with three minutes left in the period. Junior
Tayler Holmes connected on a pair of free throws in the final minute of the half to give Cabrini a slim 22-21 lead at the break.
The Cavaliers struggled on the offensive side of the floor to open the third quarter, recording five turnovers and missing 11 consecutive field goal attempts to open the half. Stockton took advantage, opening the period on a 12-2 run, to build a 33-24 lead six minutes into the quarter.
Back to back three pointers by Martin and sophomore
Kate Skalski pulled the Cavaliers to within 35-34, before two late free throws extended Stockton's lead to 37-34 after three quarters.
Despite going scoreless for nearly five minutes to open the fourth quarter, the Blue and White evened the score at 41 on a jumper by junior
Renee Oliver with just north of four minutes to play.
The Ospreys responded with back to back three pointers, extending their advantage to 50-43 with just over two minutes on the clock. While jumpers by Startare and Martin pulled the Cavaliers to within five points twice in the final minutes, Stockton connected on six of its eight three attempts down the stretch to seal the win.
After shooting just 6-30 in the first half, the Ospreys found their shooting touch in the second half, connecting on 11-24 from the field. Sasha Williams led Stockton (1-0) with 16 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.
The Cavaliers will look for their first win of the season tomorrow, as it faces Moravian College (2-1) at 5:30 p.m. in the second day of the Stockton Tip-Off Tournament.
