RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini swim teams welcome Lebanon Valley to the Dixon Pool tomorrow, as the Blue and White will look to kick off their 2015-16 home slate with a pair of wins. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
The Cavalier swim teams are off to good starts, as the Blue and White women's team is 3-2, while the men have gone 2-2 over the past three weeks.
In a tri-meet against the University of Scranton and FDU-College of Florham on October 17, the women's team earned a 75-47 win over the Devils but fell to the Royals 103-19. The men's team also outswam FDU-College of Florham, by a score of 78-44, before falling 98-24 to the University of Scranton.
The Blue and White made its way to Pittsburgh, Pa. on October 24, where the teams went head to head against AMCC foe Pitt-Bradford. The women's team scored a 144-104 win, while the men fell 135-126.
On October 31, the Cavaliers made the journey to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for a Halloween tri-meet against King's and Cedar Crest. The women's team earned a 128-66 win over the Falcons but fell 123-76 to the Monarchs, while the Blue and White men scored a 104-92 victory over Kings.
Through five meets, junior
Christina Melchiorre has led the way for the women's team with six individual first place performances and one first place relay finish.
The junior scored three wins in the 100 yard freestyle, two victories in the 200 yard freestyle and one win in the 50 yard freestyle, while also helping her team capture a first place finish in the 400 medley relay.
Sophomore
Casey Merrill has also been impressive for the Cavaliers, as the raining AMCC Rookie of the Year has three first place finishes this season.
In week two, Merrill earned wins in the 200 yard butterfly and 400 yard individual medley and helped her team capture a win in the 400 yard medley relay.
Juniors
Todd Walker and
Hassan David Goines Jr. have led the men's team with a combined 14 first place finishes in four meets.
Walker finished first three times in the 200 yard backstroke, earned two victories in the 200 yard freestyle and has also recorded wins in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly this season.
Goines tallied three wins in the 200 yard breaststroke, a pair of wins in the 50 yard freestyle and also added a win in the 200 yard individual medley.
The juniors also helped the Cavaliers earn a win in the 200 yard medley relay.
