Swim Teams Fall in Home Opener

Meet Results 

RADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini swim teams kicked off their home campaign today, as the Blue and White hosted Lebanon Valley College. The men's team fell 106-94, while the women lost 108-97.

 

Junior Todd Walker earned a pair of first place finishes in the 200 and 500 yard freestyles in 1:51.43 and 5:11.92, respectively. 

Walker also placed second in the 100 yard butterfly, reaching the wall in 56.26.

 

In the 50 yard freestyle, junior Ryan Hagan scored a time of 24.06, good for first place, while freshman Serrano Brown finished second, earning a time of 24.22.

 

Senior Sean Tallon won the 1,000 yard freestyle in 11:18.56, while freshman William Leamon earned a third place finish, with a time of 12:23.69. In the 500 yard freestyle, Tallon reached the wall in 5:27.09, good for a third place finish.

 

Junior Hassan David Goines Jr. placed second in the 200 yard medley relay, after recording with a time of 2:08.20. The junior also added a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle in 53.71.

 

On the women's side, sophomore Candace Brown led the way with a pair of wins. The second year swimmer placed first in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:06.29 and also added a win in the 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 1:05.75.

 

Junior Christina Melchiorre finished first in the 1,000 yard freestyle, scoring a time of 12:00.39. Melchiorre also added a second place finish in the 100 yard freestyle in 57.43.

 

In the 200 yard individual medley, sophomore Casey Merrill scored a first place finish with a time of 2:32.16. Merrill also placed second in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:12.44.

 

Junior Allie Stein earned a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:18.08. Juniors Meagan Kalinoski and Moira Prior finished second and third in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:23.45 and 1:23.47, respectively. Junior Brooke Hagan placed second in the 500 yard freestyle in 6:07.88.

 

The women's team closed the meet with a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay, as freshman Marissa Loro joined Merrill, Brown and Melchiorre in placing first with at time of 1:48.41.

 

The Cabrini swim teams will welcome Bethany College and Franciscan University to the Dixon Center Pool on Saturday for a tri-meet at 1 p.m.
