RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball team used a dominant defensive effort to earn its third consecutive victory tonight, topping the Delaware Valley University Aggies 67-35. With the nonconference win, the Cavaliers improved to 3-4 overall.

Dana Peterson paced the Blue and White offense, scoring 19 points, including 16 in the first half, to go with four rebound and four assists. Sophomore
Kate Skalski hit 3-6 from three point range en route to a season high 10 points.

Renee Oliver paired seven points, 10 rebounds and three steals on the night.
Leading 7-6 midway through the first quarter, the Cavaliers began to pull away as they outscored the Aggies 14-6 in the final five minutes of the opening stanza. Cabrini hit 5-13 from three point range and assisted six of its eight first quarter field goals to build a 21-12 lead.
Delaware Valley pulled to within 22-17 before the Blue and White scored the next 10 points, as junior
Tayler Holmes' three pointer extended the lead to 32-17 with 2:39 left in the half. The Cavaliers held the Aggies to just nine second quarter points, carrying a 37-21 lead into the halftime break.
Cabrini's lead grew to 42-21, as the Cavaliers held the Aggies scoreless for the opening six minutes of the third quarter. The Cavaliers continued its defensive dominance, as Delaware Valley mustered just eight third quarter points.
The Blue and White never allowed the Aggies to find their offensive rhythm, as Delaware Valley connected on just 4-30 from the field in the second half, including 0-9 from three point range.
Cabrini also controlled the glass, outrebounding the Aggies 56-49 and turned its 22 offensive rebounds into 19 points. The Cavaliers converted Delaware Valley's 19 turnovers into 22 points.
Senior Eireann Anastasi led the Aggies (1-7) with 13 points, while junior Sam Foy notched 10 points.
The Cavaliers will hit the road on Thursday, as they visit Ursinus College (4-3, 4-0 Centennial). Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Collegeville, Pa.
