Swim Teams Complete Day One at 2015 ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Day one of the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships are in the books and after two events the women's team is in 17th place, while the University of Pittsburgh ranks first with 214 points.

Senior Morgan Griffith, sophomore Christina Melchiorre and freshmen Brooke Hagan and Casey Merrill placed 12th in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The quartet finished with a final time of 1:43.28.

In the 50 yard freestyle, Griffith placed 38th out of 52 swimmers, reaching the wall in 25.20, while Melchiorre finished 42nd, completing the race in 25.36.

Sophomore Todd Walker will compete in the 100 yard butterfly and 200 yard freestyle tomorrow morning, while Griffith will compete in the 100 yard breaststroke. The action is set to begin at 10 a.m.
