GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team began its quest for a fourth consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference title tonight, with its 18-7 victory at Gwynedd Mercy in the conference opener for both clubs. The Cavaliers' 23 consecutive CSAC win improved the club to 3-4 overall on the season.
Nine Cavaliers marked the scoring column, led by seniors
Sarah Means and
Lacie Doubet, junior
Sarah Carzo and sophomore
Allie Vallen, each of whom scored three goals, with Means, Doubet and Carzo adding an assist. Fellow senior
Melissa Scanzano entered the Cabrini record book, as her two goals and an assist put her over the 200 career point plateau.
The Blue and White recorded 42 shots in the win, including 33 on goal. Scanzano and Vallen accounted for seven each, one more than Doubet. Scazano added team highs of seven ground balls and four draw controls to her stat line.

Megan Barlow recorded five saves to earn her third consecutive victory.
The Blue and White wasted no time taking control of the action, as Vallen netted a pair of goals in the first two minutes of the game. Doubet added a pair of unassisted goals, as Cabrini extended its lead to 4-0 less than five minutes into the action.
Means extended the lead with back to back goals before Scanzano and Doubet added goals to extend the Blue and White lead to 8-0 at the 13:30 mark.
Gwynedd Mercy opened its scoring with 8:24 left in the half, as Vallen and Carzo pushed the cushion to 10-1 with 5:34 left in the opening stanza. While the Griffins cut into Cabrini's lead with two more goals, the Blue and White closed the half with a flurry.
Scanzano, Carzo and Means scored goals in the final 1:12 of the half, pushing the lead to 13-3 at the half.
Scanzano joined Doubet in the Cabrini 200 career point club just over two minutes into the second half when the senior found sophomore
Katie Lasater for her first goal of the season.
Carzo completed her hat track before freshman
Jenn Robinson recorded her first career goal at the 20:56 mark. Fellow rookie
Emily Crouse added the first tally of her career with 11:24 to play, while junior
Caitlyn Poole added her first goals of the season in the final minutes.
Danae Perrymond paired two goals and two assists to lead three Griffins (2-3. 0-1 CSAC) with two goals each.
The Cavaliers will look to even their record on Saturday, when they travel north to La Plume, Pa. to face Keystone College (0-1, 0-1 CSAC).
