Women's Lacrosse Scores 16-0 Shutout over Keystone

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team evened its overall record at 4-4 and improved to 2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with today's dominant 16-0 victory over the visiting Keystone College Giants.

The shutout marked the first for the Blue and White since a 16-0 home win over Cedar Crest College on March 22, 2013.

The Cavaliers' fourth consecutive victory also extended the club's conference win streak to 24 games.

Fourteen Cavaliers marked the scoring column, including 12 who scored at least one goal in the win.  Senior Lacie Doubet led the way with three goals and an assist, while fellow senior Melissa Scanzano and junior Sarah Carzo tallied two goals and a helper each.

Sophomore Katie Lasater and freshman Emily Crouse added a goal and two assists.  Junior Caitlyn Poole paired a goal and as assist, while senior Karlie Gruccio, junior Krista Hoffman, sophomore Jess Breuning and freshmen Gabby Lee, Jackie Neary and Jenn Robinson also found the net, with Lee's goal marking the first of her career.

Senior Megan Decker scooped a game-high four ground balls, one more than Gruccio and junior Mo O'Connell.  Decker also joined freshman Maddy Worley with a pair of caused turnovers, while senior Bree Thompson, Doubet, Scanzano and freshman Lisa Saraceni controlled two draws each.

Sophomore goaltender Megan Barlow tallied three saves to earn her first career shutout and fourth consecutive victory.

The Cavaliers took control of the game from the opening draw, as Doubet found Scanzano for the game's first goal just 20 second into the action.  Less than five minutes into the game, Cabrini held a comfortable 6-0 lead.

The Blue and White built a commanding 14-0 lead at the break, as it outshot Keystone 22-1 in the opening period, including a 19-1 advantage in shots on goal.

The Cavaliers will hit the road on Wednesday, when it travels to Aston, Pa. to face Neumann University (2-3, 1-0 CSAC) in a rematch of the 2013 and 2014 CSAC championship games.  The opening draw is slated for 7 p.m.
