ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cabrini men's lacrosse team suffered its third one goal loss of the season today, as the Cavaliers surrendered three fourth quarter goals in a 9-8 loss at No. 14 Ithaca College.
The No. 11 Cavaliers fall to 5-5 with the defeat in its final nonconference game of the regular season.

Mike Leyden paced the Blue and White attack with three goals and an assist. Fellow senior
Tyler Johnston added two goals and a helper, while junior
Cole Campbell matched Johnston's three points on a goal and two assists.

Damian Sobieski added an assist.
The Blue and White were outshot 44-26 on the day, marking one more than Cabrini's season low. The Cavaliers also committed a season high 24 turnovers in the loss.
Johnston led the Cavaliers with six shots on the day, while Leyden and junior
Ethan Heisman added five each. Freshman goaltender
Tyler Morrell recorded 15 saves on the day.
Johnston gave Cabrini an early lead but the Bombers took control of the action in the first quarter, as it outshot the Cavaliers 10-3 and forced eight Blue and White quarters. Morrell's six first quarter saves kept the game close, as Ithaca netted a pair of goals late in the period to take a 2-1 lead.
The Cavaliers found their rhythm in the second quarter, as Campbell found Magazu for the senior's second goal of the season just over three minutes into the second quarter. Just over one minute later, The Cavaliers regained the lead as Leyden found Magnani for a man-up goal.
Campbell and Leyden connected at the 5:53 mark to give the Cavaliers a two goal cushion. The Bombers regained the game's momentum late in the half, scoring a pair of goals in 14 seconds to tie the score at 4-4 at the half.
Ithaca extended its scoring run to four goals early in the third quarter. Cabrini's deficit remained 6-4 until a 1:39 span late in the period seemingly turned the game. Leyden's unassisted goal at the 6:09 mark started the run, followed by Campbell and Johnston goals that put the Blue and White ahead 7-6 with 15 minutes to play.
Cabrini's fourth unanswered goal came at the 9:27 mark, as Magnani found Leyden for a man-up goal to put the Cavaliers ahead 8-6. The Bombers then turned up their pressure on both sides of the field, outshooting Cabrini 18-4 and forcing seven fourth quarter turnovers. The pressure paid off, as Ithaca netted three goals in the final 3:14 of the game, including the game-winner with just 63 seconds to play.
John Januszkiewicz led Ithaca (8-2) with four goals and two assists, while goaltender Scott Sidham notched nine saves.
The Cavaliers will return to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, when they welcome Rosemont College (2-6, 1-0 CSAC) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The opening faceoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
