READING, Pa. – Sophomore
Joe Myers fired a round of 69 to lead the Cabrini golf team to a second place finish at today's Albright College Invitational at Reading's Berkshire Country Club.
The Cavaliers carded a team score of 311, finishing 10 strokes behind the host Lions. Stevenson University finished third with a 322, while University of Valley Forge's 408 was good for fourth.
Myers' round of -2 led 19 golfers on the 6,375 yard, par 71 course.
Freshmen
Clay Anders and
Shane McIntyre also posted top 10 finishes. Anders shot a 76 to finish tied for fourth, while McIntyre tied for sixth with a round of 77.
Sophomore
Matt Vernot finished 13th after shooting 89, while rookie
Nick Straub's 93 was good for 14th.
The Cavaliers will return to the links on Tuesday, as they compete in the CSAC Championship Preview Match at Philmont Country Club, the same course that will host the 2015 CSAC Championships n two weeks. Tee time is scheduled for 12 noon in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.
