RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team split a doubleheader against Arcadia today at Cabrini Field, falling 7-5 in game one, before topping the Knights 11-10 in game two. The Blue and White improved its record to 20-8 overall and remain 15-3 in the CSAC.
Today's victory marks the second consecutive season the Cavaliers have reached the 20 win plateau and the third time in program history.
In game one, the Knights scored the game's first run in the third inning but the Blue and White answered with a run in the fourth to even the score.
With the bases loaded, sophomore

The Knights regained the lead with a pair of runs in the fifth inning. The Blue and White followed with four runs on four hits in the bottom half. Freshman
Christine Ferraro led off with a walk. Sophomore
Amber Dietrich singled to right center, advancing Ferraro to second. Cooper followed with a single to right center, as Ferraro came home to score. Later on in the inning, Savar hit a three run home run to extend the lead to 5-3.
The Blue and White were unable to hold off a hot Arcadia offense in the sixth, allowing four runs on five hits and one error.
In the seventh, the Knights notched a one, two, three inning to take the win.
Savar went 2-3 and finished with a game high four RBI. Cooper went 2-4 and tallied an RBI, while Ferraro recorded a pair of hits and scored a run scored in the loss.
Freshman
Jess Giordano fell to 5-3 on the season after allowing seven runs, including three earned runs, on ten hits.
The Knights scored first in the nightcap, notching a run in the first inning. The Cavaliers answered with four runs on five hits in the bottom half. With the bases loaded, senior
Steph Diegel singled to center field and plated Ferraro. Senior
Becca Miles followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring Dietrich. Sophomore
Taylor Gallagher notched a two run single a few batters later to extend the lead to 4-1.
Cooper hit a solo home run in the second inning for her fifth tally on the year.
Arcadia got back on track in the fourth, scoring three runs on four hits.
Diegel doubled to right field in the bottom half, scoring Cooper. Sophomore
Natalie Giannascoli followed with a two run single up the middle, plating freshman
Sarah Beckner and Diegel.
The Blue and White added three runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 11-4. In the top of the sixth, the Knights rallied for four runs on five hits. Arcadia continues its rally in the top of the seventh, as it played a pair of runs before its comeback fell short.
Diegel notched two RBI after going 3-4 at the plate. Cooper was 1-1 with three walks and an RBI in the win.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Hohman pitched six innings, surrendered seven earned runs on 10 hits, before Giordano took over in the seventh to ice the Knights. Giordano was awarded the save after allowing two runs on three hits.
The Blue and White will travel to Allentown, Pa. on Friday to take on Cedar Crest College (9-17, 8-10 CSAC) in a CSAC doubleheader. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
