HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. – The Cabrini golf team fell just shy of capturing its second consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference championship, as the Cavaliers placed second at this year's event at Philmont Country Club.
The Blue and White fired a round of 315 in today's second 18, for a two-day total score of 644, finishing four strokes behind champion Marywood University. Neumann's 663 was good for third, while Keystone placed fourth with a team score of 676.
Four Cavaliers finished in the top 11 on the individual leaderboard, while all five placed in the top 25 among the 44 players.
Sophomore
Dan Gentilucci led the Blue and White with a two-day score of 158 after today's round of 78, finishing fifth overall.
Sophomores
Joe Myers and
Michael Rojas matched Gentilucci's 78 today, finishing the championship with scores of 160 and 161, good for sixth and seventh, respectively.
Senior
Tommy Breslin closed his career with a 165 after pairing rounds of 84 and 81 to finish 11th. Fellow senior
Ted Nebiolo's round of 92 and 86 left him in 25th place.
By virtue of their finish, Gentilucci earned an All-CSAC First Team honor, while Myers and Rojas received Second Team nods. Nebiolo was named to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Marywood's Michael Thomas paired rounds of 72 and 75 to take the individual title by six shots over Neumann's Brandon Gagne.
