PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – The Cabrini College golf team had an impressive showing at today's Cabrini College Quad at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve.
The Blue and White carded a team score of 303 to claim the team victory, 20 strokes better than both Penn State Abington and Ursinus College. Eastern University scored a 369, while the University of Valley Forge failed to record a team score.
Senior
Tommy Breslin led the Cavaliers with a round of 74 on the par 71, 6,402 yard course. The senior finished in a second place tie, just two strokes off the pace.
Fellow sophomore
Joe Myers' 75 was good for fourth place, while senior
Ted Nebiolo and sophomore
Michael Rojas tied for fifth with matching rounds of 77.
Freshman
Shane McIntyre shot a round of 82 to finish 12th, three strokes better than sophomore
Matt Vernot, whose 85 placed him 14th overall.
Freshman
Nick Straub and
Megan Savage fired rounds of 90 and 105, finishing 19th and 22nd overall.
Ursinus' Russell Hill recorded a round of 72 to take the individual title, finishing two strokes ahead of Breslin and Penn State Abington's Mike Lam.
The Cavaliers will return to the links on Monday, when it travels to Reading, Pa.'s Berkshire Country Club for the Albright College Tri-Match. Tee time is slated for 1:30 p.m.
