RADNOR, Pa. – The men's soccer teams from Cabrini and Alvernia used every inch of the Edith Robb Dixon Field pitch and every second of the allotted 110 minutes but in the end, they ended where they started.  

The Cavaliers and Crusaders played to 1-1 draw today, as the Blue and White moved to 4-1-2 on the season.

Today also marked the program's annual Alumni Day.  More than 30 former Cavaliers had the opportunity to compete on the stadium's new turf earlier in the afternoon.  Many stayed through the afternoon to cheer on the Blue and White in today's game.

Cabrini and Alvernia played a spirited opening 45 minutes without either finding the back of the net.  

The Crusaders opened the second half with increased pressure that paid off in the 57th minute, as freshman Nick Bombard took advantage of a defensive miscue and put the ball into the net.

The Cavaliers fought back to even the score in the 77th minute, when sophomore Ben Roda's set piece found junior A.J. Bishop streaking to the net for his fourth goal of the campaign.

Both teams created late goal chances but neither could mark the goal column, sending the game to overtime.  

The two additional 10 minute periods played out as the first 90 minutes did, with both teams playing an end to end brand of soccer but neither finding the back of the net.

Junior Bobby Kane led the Cavaliers with six of its 13 shots, while Bishop added two.  Junior goaltender C.J. Serratore notched eight saves on the day, including five in the second half.

The Blue and White will return to action on Monday, when it opens Colonial States Athletic Conference play with a visit from Rosemont College (0-5-1).  Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
