CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team scored its 19th consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference victory today, as it downed Summit University 6-0. With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 2-0 in the CSAC and 2-4-1 overall.
The Blue and White sprinted to an early lead and never looked back. Sophomore
Taylor Tralie opened the scoring in the fifth minute when she dribbled through the defense before posting her second goal of the campaign.
Six minutes later, the sophomore notched the assist column, as her cross found the head of senior
Dana Peterson, who redirected the ball into the net. Sophomore
Lisette Hrapmann scored her first goal of the season in the 17th minute when her header connected with a cross from senior
Meghan Martin.
While the Cavaliers carried a 3-0 lead into the halftime break, it didn't take long for the lead to grow in the second half. In the first minute of the stanza, Peterson played a through ball to Martin for her first goal of 2015.
Tralie notched her second goal of the day in the 62nd minute, as senior
Kerri Hinkelmon's cross found her. Freshman
Brittany Woodruff closed the scoring in the 78th minute, as she converted a long distance blast into her first career goal.
The Blue and White built a 27-10 advantage in shots, outshooting the Defenders 13-2 in the second half. Its 27 shots marked a season high, as did its 14 shots on goal and seven corner kicks.
Hrapmann and senior
Kaitlyn Cooper shared team-high honors with four shots each, one more than Hinkelmon, Peterson, Runyen and Tralie.
Sophomore goaltender
Alivia Dietsch notched four saves to earn the win. Junior
Marissa Jenkins and sophomore
Crystal Auslander also saw time in the Cavaliers' net.
Shalynne Laman recorded three shots for Summit (2-5, 0-2 CSAC), while goaltender Elysia Hinkel made eight saves.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference play on Tuesday, when it welcomes New York University (6-1) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
