RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team saw its return to Edith Robb Dixon Field spoiled tonight, as the Cavaliers suffered a 3-0 defeat at the feet of the New York University Violets. The nonconference loss drops the Blue and White to 2-5-1 on the season.
The Violets grabbed an early lead as sophomore Olivia Braender-Carr netted a goal in the seventh minute. Despite being outshot 12-3 in the opening 45 minutes and not earning a corner kick, the Cavaliers' defense held firm, trailing by a single goal at the halftime break.
NYU doubled its advantage in the early minutes of the second half on freshman Royce White's header. The Violets sealed the win in the 66th minute when sophomore Steph Ho deposited a loose ball in the Cabrini 18-yard box.

Despite the loss, Cabrini's defense remained solid, led by sophomore goaltender
Alivia Dietsch. The sophomore recorded a career high 11 saves, including seven in a second half that saw NYU tally 17 shots and six of its 11 corner kicks.
The Cavaliers will return to conference play on Saturday, as they travel to Allentown, Pa. to face Cedar Crest College (3-5-2, 0-4 CSAC). The Colonial States Athletic Conference match is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
