CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - The Cavaliers got solid contributions from up and down the roster today, as the Cabrini women's basketball team scored a dominant 86-38 win at Summit University.Â
Cabrini showed no rust after a seven day break from competition, as all 12 available players saw at least seven minutes in today's win, with 11 recording at least one point and one rebound and 10 tallying at least one assist.
With the wire to wire victory, the Cavaliers improved to 5-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 8-7 overall.

While the teams used the opening minutes to feel each other out, the Cavaliers tool control of the action midway through the first quarter. Simone Lichty's three pointer pulled the Defenders to within 10-7. The Blue and White held Summit to just one more field goal in the final five minutes of the period, as Cabrini closed the opening frame on a 17-3 run, building a 27-10 lead after the first quarter.
The Blue and White removed any hope of a comeback in the second quarter, as it held Summit to just one field goal in the 10 minute quarter. Cabrini held the Defenders to just 1-11 shooting and forced eight turnovers. Â
On the offensive side of the floor, the Cavaliers scored 30 points, among its most productive quarters of the season, with 23 points coming from the Blue and White bench.
Cabrini shot nearly 60% from the field in the opening 20 minutes and turned the ball over just five times. Defensively, the club held Summit to just 4-20 from the floor and turned 16 turnovers into 29 points. The Cavaliers also dominated the glass to the tune of a 20-6 rebounding edge, converting 11 offensive boards into 14 points.
Despite both teams remaining scoreless in the opening four minutes of the third quarter, the Blue and White pushed its lead to 68-23 in the final seconds of the quarter on freshman
Gaby Jones' layup.
Ryan connected on her third three pointer of the day with three minutes left in the action, pushing the Cavaliers' lead to a game high 52 points.
The Blue and White connected on a season high 33 field goals to go with 19 assists and 15 steals, both season highs, as well. Â
Lichty led the Defenders (3-8, 1-6 CSAC) with 11 points, one more than Torri Erdman.
The Cavaliers will return to the Scranton, Pa. area on Wednesday, as they look to hand Marywood (9-6, 6-0 CSAC) its first league loss of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Â
