Meet ResultsMeet ScoresView Senior Day PhotosRADNOR, Pa. – Today, the Cabrini swim teams welcomed the Widener Pride and the Wilkes Colonels to the Dixon Center Pool for a tri-meet. The Cavaliers men's team scored a 131-49 win over the Colonels, but fell 138-49 to the Pride. The women's team lost a tight one against Wilkes, falling 103.50-93.50, and against Widener, the Blue and White dropped164-39.
During the first break, Cabrini seniors Meagan Kalinoski, Sean Tallon and Christopher Ryan were honored by the team for their hard work and dedication during their time with the Blue and White, as the seniors made their final appearances in the Dixon Center Pool.
Junior Todd Walker led the men's team with a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle, reaching the wall in 5:02.82, just three seconds off his school record pace. Walker also added second place finish in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:11.69.
In the 1,000 yard freestyle, Tallon earned a time of 11:46.09, good for second place. Freshman William Leamon followed Tallon, reaching the wall in 11:56.56. Tallon also placed fourth in the 500 yard freestyle, earning a time of 5:37.62.
Junior Hassan David Goines Jr. had a solid day, as he finished with a pair of third place finishes. The junior scored a time of 1:05.52 in the 100 yard breaststroke and 23.08 in the 50 yard freestyle.
Sophomore Nicholas Vivian placed third in the 100 yard butterfly, good for a time of 58.62.
Walker, Goines, Vivian and sophomore Ryan Hagan placed second in the 200 yard medley relay, as the quartet earned a time of 1:46.90.
Sophomore Candace Brown scored an impressive time of 26.47 in the 50 yard freestyle, good for second place. The sophomore also added a fourth place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 1:06.89.
Junior Christina Melchiorre notched a pair of third place finishes, as the junior finished in 59.31 and 2:08.48 in the 100 and 200 yard freestyles, respectively.
Freshman Marissa Loro showed stamina and strength, as the rookie swam the 500 and 1,000 yard freestyles. Loro placed third in the 1,000 yard freestyle, reaching the wall in 12:23.35 and finished fourth in the 500 yard freestyle in 6:02.24.
The Cavalier swim teams will conclude their regular season schedule next Saturday when the Blue and White travels to Swarthmore, Pa. to take on Swarthmore College at 2 p.m.
