HAVERFORD, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team saw its five match win streak come to an end today, as the Cavaliers suffered a pair of losses at the Haverford College tri-match.
The Blue and White fell to Gettysburg College 3-2 (15-25, 20-25, 28-26, 25-20, 15-6) and 3-2 (17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-15) to the host Fords, falling to 5-10 on the year.
Junior
Anne-Marie Jones recorded her first double-double of the year against Gettysburg, pairing a career high 20 kills with 14 digs.
Senior
Kelly Guarino and sophomore
Emily Shannon also notched double-doubles in the loss. Guarino tallied 10 kills and 24 digs, while Shannon notched 13 kills and 25 digs.
Freshman
Emily Stokarski notched 47 assists, while sophomore
Ashley Shannon narrowly missed a career high with 30 digs.
Guarino and
Emily Shannon added double-doubles in the nightcap as well. The senior posted 12 kills and 30 digs, while Shannon notched 10 kills and 14 digs.
Jones recorded a match high 15 kills, while
Ashley Shannon scored 17 digs. Stokarski narrowly missed a double-double with 35 assists and nine digs.
The Cavaliers will return to Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Tuesday, when they travel to Marywood University (7-14, 4-1 CSAC). First serve is slated for 7pm in Scranton, PA.
