Men's Soccer Extends Win Streak with 3-0 Win over Clarks Summit

RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team continued its positive momentum today as it scored a 3-0 win over Clarks Summit University at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The Cavaliers' fourth consecutive win improved the club to 7-5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

The Blue and White carried play for much of the match and were able to keep the Clarks Summit back line under pressure as they tallied 19 total shots on the afternoon.

Senior A.J. Bishop put the Cavaliers on the board in the 22nd minute after he converted a through ball from junior midfielder Ben Roda.  Despite continuing to heap pressure on the Defenders' back line, the Cavaliers clung to a 1-0 halftime lead as Clarks Summit goaltender Ben Campbell recorded four first half saves.

It wasn't long into the second half before Bishop found the back of the net again with a far post blast for his second of the day and ninth of the season.

Senior John Underwood closed the scoring in the 71st minute with an impressive curling shot into the upper left corner of the Defenders' net, marking the senior's first tally of the season.

In the closing minutes of the game Clarks Summit mounted several attacks, but the Cabrini back line anchored by senior Ryan New stifled any challenges that came their way.  Clarks Summit was held to just one shot on the day as senior net minder C.J. Serratore recorded the shutout for the Cavaliers, extending the team's shutout streak to 360 minutes.

Bishop led the Blue and White with seven of its 19 shots, while fellow senior Bobby Kane added three.

Cabrini continues in CSAC action on Tuesday afternoon as they travel to Immaculata (9-4-1, 4-1 CSAC) for 4pm kickoff.
