Bishops 2 Goals Lead to Men's Soccer Win at Marywood

SCRANTON, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team soccer team moved into a second place tie in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with today's 3-1 victory at Marywood University.

The win improved to 8-6-1 overall and 5-2 in conference play, part of a four-way tie in the league standings.

The Cavaliers and Pacers played an even first half, evenly splitting 11 shots and three corner kicks in the first half.

Cabrini broke the deadlock in the 49th minute, as senior A.J. Bishop scored his first of two goals after a pass from classmate John Underwood.

Fellow senior Bobby Kane doubled the lead in the 58th minute, as junior Joe Fiore's cross found Kane's head for his fifth goal of the season.

Bishop's second goal of the game came in the 73rd minute, as freshman Ibrahim Kallie's pass sprung Bishop for a breakaway.

The shutout went by the wayside in the 87th minute, as a failed clear led to a Marywood goal.

Senior goaltender C.J. Serratore earned the win for Cabrini with three saves.

Kane led the Blue and White offense with three shots, while Bishop, Fiori, Kallie and Underwood added two each.

Chris Reynolds scored the lone goal for Marywood (4-9-1, 2-4-1 CSAC), while Patrick Brogan recoded four saves in the loss.

The Cavaliers will hit the road on Wednesday, as they visit Rosemont College at 7pm.
