RADNOR, PA – After scoring just 10 goals through its first nine matches, the Cabrini men's soccer team found its scoring touch today, as the Cavaliers scored a 7-0 victory over the Cairn University Highlanders.
The Blue and White improved to 4-5-1 overall and evened its Colonial States Athletic Conference record at 1-1 with today's triumph.
Senior
Bobby Kane and freshman
Richard Montesdeoca led the Blue and White with two goals each, while senior A.J. Bisho paired a goal and two assists.
After narrowly missing several chances in the opening 30 minutes, Cabrini opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, as freshman
Andre Justin's chip found Kane who beat the Cairn goaltender.
Eight minutes later, sophomore
Salvatore Zampirri Jr. played a through ball to Montesdeoca for the rookie's first career goal. Despite outshooting Cairn 9-4, the Cavaliers carried their 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Blue and White turned up its offensive pressure after the halftime break, outshooting the Highlanders 11-1.
Just over two minutes after the start of the second half, Bishop played a long pass that deflected off a defender and fell to sophomore
Jared Irwin, who put the ball into the back of the net. Cabrini didn't waste much time building on its lead, as Bishop's cross found Kane in the 49th minute for the senior's second goal of the day.
The Cavaliers added to their lead in the 58th minute, as Irwin's cross found Bishop streaking through the penalty area for a header goal, the senior's sixth of the campaign.
Montesdeoca added to his scoring in the 67th minute, as he was on the receiving end of a direct kick service from junior
Ben Roda. Freshman
Derrick Amoako closed the scoring in the 87th minute, as he outworked a defender for a loose ball, fired a shot and put his own rebound into the net for his first career goal.
The Blue and White recorded 20 shots in the win, including 13 shots on goal. Kane tallied a match high five shots, one more than Amoako and two more than Irwin.

C.J. Serratore recorded Cabrini's only save on the day and shared the shutout with freshmen netminders
John Warwick and
Michael Gould.
Freshman Brendan Keller led Cairn (4-7-1, 0-2 CSAC) with three shots, while freshman Grant Grogan notched six saves in his first collegiate appearance.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, as they head to Gwynedd Valley, PA to face Gwynedd Mercy (6-6, 2-0 CSAC). Kickoff is slated for 12 noon.
