GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team posted back to back wins for the first time this season after today's 1-0 victory at Gwynedd Mercy.
The Cavaliers' win evened its record at 5-5-1 overall, while it improved to 2-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
The Blue and White built a 14-2 advantage in shots in the win, holding the Griffins without a shot on goal in the 90 minutes of action.
Despite a 6-1 shots advantage in the first half, Cabrini could not find the back of the net.
That changed in the 70th minute, as senior
Bobby Kane deflected a throw-in from junior
Matt Ochman for the senior's fourth goal of the season.
The Cavaliers' defense continued its solid play over the game's final 20 minutes, as it surrendered just one shot in the game's final minutes.
Sophomore
Jared Irwin recorded four of Cabrini's 14 shots on the day, one more than Kane and two more than junior
Ben Roda.
Tyler Blair suffered the loss for Gwynedd Mercy (6-7, 2-1 CSAC) despite recording five second half saves.
The Cavaliers will hit the road on Tuesday, as they will visit Neumann University (3-8, 1-1 CSAC). Kickoff is slated for 7pm in Aston, PA.
