SCRANTON, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball team erased a 13 point halftime lead to take a 75-74 lead in the game's final seconds but a last second shot sent the Cavaliers to a 76-75 loss at the University of Scranton tonight.
The loss evened the Blue and White's record at 2-2 on the year, while the Royals improved to 3-0.
Junior
Tyheim Monroe led the Cavaliers with yet another double-double, his 31st in a row. The junior paired 20 points with 20 rebounds, just one off his career high.

Deryl Bagwell matched Monroe with 20 points, while sophomore
Ivan Robinson added 10 points. Senior
Ryan Charity recorded a career best five steals to go with nine points.
Scranton led for most of an opening 20 minute period that saw three lead changes and a pair of ties.
The Royals began to pull away with about eight minutes left in the opening frame. With the score tied at 17-17 midway through the first half, Scranton outscored Cabrini 27-14 to build a 44-31 halftime lead.
The Blue and White struggled to find its offensive rhythm in the first half, connecting on just 14-37 from the floor, including 1-7 from the three point line. The Cavaliers also made just three trips to the free throw line before the break.
A Bagwell three pointer in the opening minutes of the second half began the Cabrini comeback. The Cavaliers used a 13-4 spurt sliced the Blue and White deficit back to 50-46 on Robinson's steal and lay-up.
Four minutes later, another Bagwell triple broke a 57-57 tie, giving Cabrini its first lead since 17-14. The Cavaliers' lead swelled to 67-59 on a deep Bagwell jumper with 6:57 to play.
Scranton had an answer, using a 13-3 run of its own to take a 72-70 lead on a John Viktus dunk with 1:42 to play.
Monroe's jumper again tied the score on Cabrini's next possession. The Royals answered on their next possession taking a two point lead with 1:14 to play. After empty trips for both clubs, Monroe hit Bagwell for his fourth three pointer of the night, putting the Cavaliers ahead 75-74 with 13 seconds on the clock.
Scranton went without a timeout prior to its last possession, beating the Blue and White for the game-winning bucket in the game's final seconds.
The Blue and White found its shooting touch after the break, connecting on nearly 53% of its field goal attempts, including 5-9 from three point range.
Ethan Danzig led the Royals with 25 points, while Vitkus paired 16 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots.
Cabrini will return to action on Nov. 30, when it hosts Rosemont College in the Cavaliers' Colonial States Athletic Conference opener. Game time is slated for 8pm at Nerney Field House as the second half of a women's and men's doubleheader.
