BRYN MAWR, PA – The Cabrini women's swim team returned to action tonight, as it scored an 86-85 win at Bryn Mawr College. The Cavaliers scored victories in six of the night's 11 events.
Senior
Christina Melchiorre led the Blue and White with a pair of program records in the meet. The senior won the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:20.17, eclipsing a mark she set just a few weeks ago.
Later in the meet, the senior posted a victorious time of 5:26.92 in the 500 yard freestyle, slicing more than three seconds off her previous mark set in 2015.
Freshman
Lauren Finnegan and junior
Candace Brown joined Melchiorre in the winner's circle, after claiming wins in the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly, respectively.
The Blue and White also bookended the night's event with victories in the 200 yard medley and 200 yard freestyle relay events.
Sophomore
Betsy Czarkowski, freshman
Ashley Moore and senior
Moira Prior joined Brown to post a winning time of 2:07.25 in the medley relay, the night's first event.
Cabrini also closed the meet on a high note, as Brown joined junior
Brooke Hagan, freshman
Katherine Buckman and Finnegan in the 200 yard freestyle relay, posting a winning time of 1:48.41.
Melchiorre added a second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, while Buckman, Finnegan and Moore notched second place finishes in the 200 yard individual medley, 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke, respectively.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Friday, as they head to Altoona, PA to face AMCC rival Penn State-Altoona. The action is slated for 4pm.
