DAYTONA, FL – Cabrini snapped its two game losing streak and closed its Florida trip with a 51-41 win over the Edgewood College Eagles today at the Daytona Beach Shootout.
With the nonconference win, the Cavaliers improved to 4-6 on the year.

Renee Oliver led the Blue and White with a career best 14 points to go with eight rebounds. Freshman

Caroline Price added nine points each, marking a career high for Price.

Nomi Washington paired six points and six boards.
The Blue and White jumped to an early lead, as it held Edgewood to just four points in the first quarter. Cabrini expanded its lead to nine points on a pair of free throws by sophomore
Gaby Jones, before carrying a 12-4 lead into the second quarter.
The Eagles found their shooting touch in the second quarter, as they opened the period on a 12-2 spurt to take a 16-14 lead with 2:41 left in the half. Cabrini rallied late in the quarter, as Washington and Price outscored Edgewood 6-1 to give Cabrini a 20-17 lead at the halftime break.
Edgewood regained the lead early in the third stanza before the Cavaliers regained control of the game. Trailing 23-20 at the six minute mark, Price's steal and lay-up sprung the Blue and White on a 15-1 run.
Four Cavaliers scored during the spurt, including six points from Oliver, including a steal and fast break bucket that put Cabrini ahead 35-24 with 65 seconds left in the quarter. Freshman
Meghan Matthews found Price in the seconds of the quarter to give the Blue and White game-high a 37-25 lead after three quarters.
Cabrini maintained their lead in the fourth quarter, never allowing the Eagles to come within seven points.
Both teams struggled with their shooting touches today, as they shot a combined 30% from the field, including 3-21 from three point range.
The Cavaliers converted 17 Edgewood turnovers into 21 points and turned 13 offensive rebounds into 13 second chance points.
Marissa Hoyer led Edgewood (0-9) with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Allison Gordon paired eight points and nine boards.
Cabrini will take a few days off for the Christmas holiday before returning to action on Dec. 31, when it visits Elizabethtown College (8-1, 0-1 Landmark). The ball will go up at 2pm.
