DOYLESTOWN, PA – The Cabrini women's basketball team could not carry its momentum from Wednesday's win on the road, as the Cavaliers suffered a 60-40 loss at Delaware Valley University.
Freshman
Erin Dodds led the Blue and White with 12 points, while junior
Myonie Williamson added 11. Senior
Renee Oliver grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to go with six points.
Cabrini built an early lead, as Dodds notched the game's first five points. Unfortunately, the Cavaliers scored just two points in the final 8:51 of the first quarter.
The Blue and White relied on its defense to keep the game tight, as the Aggies scored just 10 points in the frame, as Delaware Valley built a 10-7 lead after 10 minutes.
Cabrini pulled within 17-13 midway through the second period, but the Aggies used an 11-0 run to build a 28-13 lead with just 38 seconds left in the second quarter. Williamson's lay-up in the final seconds of the half sent the teams into the half with the Blue and White trailing 28-15.
Despite the Cavaliers' deficit growing to 17 points early in the third quarter, both teams played an even third period, sending Cabrini into the fourth quarter trailing 41-28.

Pattie Fortescue scored the first four points of the final period, pulling the Cavaliers to within nine points. The Aggies responded with a 16-2 run, building a 23 point lead in the game's final minute.
The Cavaliers shot just 28.6% from the field in the loss, including 6-27 from the floor in the first half, making one of its 11 tries from three point range.
Ashley Smirk led Delaware Valley (1-6) with 19 points and six rebounds.
The Blue and White (2-4) will return to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, as it hosts Clarks summit University (0-6, 0-1 CSAC). Game time is slated for 6pm at Nerney Field House.
