Women's Basketball Finds Offense in 91-31 Win over Clarks Summit

RADNOR, PA – Six Cavaliers scored at least nine points and all 11 Cavaliers who saw action grabbed at least one rebound tonight, as the Cabrini women's basketball scored a 91-31 win over the Clarks Summit University.

With the win, the Blue and White improved to 3-4 on the year and 2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Junior Kate Skalski led all scorers with 18 points in just 11 minutes off the bench.  The junior hit 4-8 from three point range and recorded a career high four steals.  Fellow junior Myonie Williamson led the Cavaliers with 16 points on 8-11 shooting, to go with seven rebounds and three assists in just 16 minutes of action.

Freshman Meghan Matthews made her collegiate debut tonight, scoring 14 points, while sophomore Nomi Washington tallied 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocked shots.

Sophomore Gaby Jones added 10 points, six boards, four steals and three assists.

Senior Renee Oliver matched a career high with 12 rebounds to go with nine points.

The Blue and White scored the first eight points of the game and never looked back.  Cabrini closed the first quarter on a 14-0 run to build a 27-5 cushion.

The Cabrini defense never allowed the Defenders to get into any rhythm, as Clarks Summit converted just eight field goals on the day and recorded 32 turnovers.  The Cavaliers turned those turnovers into 36 points.

Cabrini also dominated the painted area outscoring the Defenders 58-6 in the lane. The Cavaliers earned a 51-29 rebound advantage and turned 23 offensive boards into 20 second chance points.

The Cavaliers' 51 rebounds marked a season high, as did its 19 steals and 31 assists.

Freshman Natalie Tuffy led Clarks summit (0-7, 0-2 CSAC) with 15 points, while sophomore Torri Erdman added 14 points.

The Cavaliers have little time to relish in the victory, as they will host Susquehanna University (5-1, 1-0 Landmark) on Thursday.  Game time is slated for 7pm at Nerney Field House.
