RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's basketball team pushed its win streak to a season high six games today, as the Cavaliers scored a 90-74 win over the visiting Summit University Defenders at Nerney Field House.
With the win, the Blue and White improved to 14-8 overall and 12-4 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. With two league games remaining on the schedule, the Blue and White sit in third place, one game behind Neumann and three back of Gwynedd Mercy. The Cavaliers will face both clubs next week, as they travel to Neumann on Wednesday before Gwynedd Mercy visits Nerney Field House on Saturday to close the regular season.
Six Cavaliers netted at least seven points in the win, led by sophomore
Tyheim Monroe, who posted his Division III leading 22nd double-double of the season. The sophomore hit 11-14 from the floor for 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass.

Jair Green added 21 points, five rebounds and career highs of five assists and five steals, while shooting 9-14 from the field and 3-5 from three point range. Fellow sophomore
Deryl Bagwell notched 14 points, four boards, four assists and three steals off the bench.
Freshman
Ivan Robinson recorded seven assists for the second consecutive game to go with 11 points, while senior
Ace Henry paired nine points and five rebounds. Junior
Ryan Charity chipped in with seven points and five rebounds in just 11 minutes of action.
The Blue and White owned the painted area of the hardwood, outscoring the Defenders 48-26 in the paint. The Cavaliers also earned a 47-34 rebound advantage, with 24 offensive boards leading to 22 second chance points.
The Cavaliers' inside outside game was on display from the opening whistle, as Monroe and Henry hit three lay-ups to open the game before back to back three pointers by Green opened a 12-2 lead just 3:31 into the game. Minutes later, a 9-0 spurt that included four lay-ups pushed the lead to 23-8.
The Defenders battled back, pulling within 36-29 after tallying eight consecutive points. The Blue and White had an answer, scoring the final seven points of the half to take a 52-33 lead at the break.
Cabrini's lead hovered between 16-20 for much of the second half, before Robinson found Green for a fast break dunk at the 12:30 mark, expanding the cushion to a game high 74-51.
The Blue and White recorded a season high 26 assists today, while its 37 made field goals, 47 total rebounds, 23 offensive rebounds and nine turnovers ranked among the Cavaliers' best statistical performances of the season.
Senior Abe Valentine led Summit (3-20, 3-13 CSAC) with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists. Fellow senior Dan Decker hit 4-5 from three point range en route to 14 points, while senior Nate Wiersma added 13 points off the bench.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference play on Monday as they host the University of Scranton (18-5, 11-5 Landmark) on Monday in a game that was originally slated for Jan. 25. Tip is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Nerney Field House.
