RADNOR, Pa. – After scoring just 11 runs through seven games this season, the Cavalier offense went on a tear today, topping Immaculata 13-2 and 9-2. With the wins, the Blue and White improved to 4-5 on the season and 2-0 in the Colonial Stats Athletic Conference.
In game one, it was all Cabrini, as the eight run rule came into effect after five innings of action.
After a scoreless first inning, Cabrini's offense caught fire in the second, scoring five runs on six hits and one error.
Junior
Lindsay Savar and sophomore
Emily Smull started the inning with a pair of singles. Sophomore
Sarah Beckner then doubled down the left field line, plating Savar. Sophomore
Alexandria Ramos reached first base following an infield error, while pinch runner, junior
Taylor Mack, crossed home plate.
Following a fielder's choice, sophomore
Christine Ferraro loaded the bases with a bunt single. Ramos scored a batter later, as junior
Amber Dietrich drew a walk. Sophomore

Marissa Alpaugh reached first base on a fielder's choice, as Ferraro was thrown out at the plate. Savar notched her second hit of the inning, as the junior's RBI single to second base plated Dietrich. An infield pop fly ended the inning.
The Blue and White continued to press on in the third inning, tallying six runs on five hits and one error.
With one out, Ramos singled through the left side. An error by the center fielder put runners on second and third. Ferraro loaded the bases again after her second bunt single, setting things up for Dietrich, who notched a two run double.
Giordano plated a pair of Cavaliers, as her single to right field scored Ferraro and Dietrich. With the Cavaliers up 9-0, Alpaugh tallied the first home run of her collegiate career, sending a two run blast over the left field wall.
An RBI single from Ferraro and an RBI double from Giordano in the bottom of the fourth inning, ended the scoring for the Blue and White. The Mighty Macs scored a pair of runs in the fifth but it was not enough to extend the game.
Giordano tallied three RBI in game one, on a perfect 3-3 in the batter's box. Ferraro also went 3-3, with one RBI, while the Cavaliers combined for 16 hits in four innings.
Giordano earned her second win on the year, as the sophomore improved to 2-2. Giordano allowed just two hits and struck out three Mighty Macs through five innings in the circle.
In game two, the Blue and White offense remained hot, recording 15 hits through six innings.
A pair of home runs in the second inning gave Cabrini a 5-0 lead. Beckner notched her first career homer, as the rookie launched a three run home run over the center field wall. Dietrich followed with a two run homer over the right field wall.
The Cavaliers recorded a run in the third, after Ramos' single squeaked past the first baseman, plating Savar.
The Mighty Macs scored a pair of runs in the fourth to make it 6-2 Cabrini.
In the fifth inning, Savar recorded her third hit in game two, as the junior's fly ball to right field went the distance for her first homer on the year.

Victoria Hall opened the sixth inning with a single through the middle. Hall later crossed home plate, following junior
Kaitlyn Cooper's single to right field.
Sophomore
Kaitlyn Hohman closed the door on the chance of an Immaculata comeback, after recording three ground outs to end the game.
Dietrich led the way offensively for the Cavaliers, with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI, while Beckner finished with a game high three RBI.
Hohman recorded her second win in the circle this season, improving to 2-2 on the year. The sophomore surrendered a pair of runs on five hits in seven innings of action.
The Cavaliers have some time off before traveling to Ewing, N.J. to face the College of New Jersey (8-5) in a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 30. Game one will start at 2 p.m.
