SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team closed its regular season tonight, as it suffered a 17-11 loss at the University of Scranton. The loss dropped the Cavaliers to 11-5 on the year.
Sophomore
Jackie Neary paced the Blue and White offense, matching a career high with four goals, while junior
Jess Breuning paired three goals with six draw controls.

Sasha Wozniak paired two goals and an assist, while junior
Allie Vallen paired a goal and a helper.
Junior
Megan Barlow suffered the loss in the Cabrini cage, despite recording a career high 16 saves and nine ground balls.
Neary added four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Freshman

Maureen Sullivan with three ground balls each and caused three Lady Royals' miscues.
The Cavaliers struggled to get their offense going, as the team combined to commit 28 turnovers, among their highest output of the season.
Trailing 1-0 in the game's opening minutes, Neary put the Blue and White on the board four minute into the game. The Lady Royals responded with four unanswered goals. Neary's second tally of the night stalled the Scranton run, pullng Cabrini within 5-2.
The Cavaliers' deficit grew to 8-3 with 12:33 left in the opening stanza, but goals by Vallen, Wozniak and Neary sliced the lead to 8-6. Scranton closed the half with a goal in the final minute, carrying a 9-6 lead into the halftime break.
The teams exchanged goals in the opening 11 minutes of the second half, with Breuning scoring twice to join Neary and freshman
Emma Rodner-Tims in the scoring column.
Neary's fourth goal of the night came with 13:37 to play and kept Cabrini within reach, trailing 10-7. Scranton put an end to the comeback hopes, as the Lady Royals recorded four unanswered goals to build a 17-10 lead with just over three minutes to play.
Meghan Kerr led Scranton (10-5) with seven points on five goals and two assists, while Erin Allen added four goals. Goaltender Marne Rossetti paired 11 saves and eight ground balls.
By virtue of a perfect 9-0 record in Colonial States Athletic Conference play, the Cavaliers have secured the top seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament and a bye into the semifinal round.
The Blue and White will host a semifinal round game on Wednesday, May 4 at a time to be announced. Cabrini must wait until the conclusion of Saturday's opening round games between #3 Marywood and #5 Gwynedd Mercy and #4 Immaculata and #5 Centenary. Cabrini will host the lowest remaining seed after Saturday's action.
