RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini swim teams returned to action after a six week break from competition, welcoming the Ursinus College Bears to the Dixon Center Pool. The Blue and White women suffered a 142-94 loss, while the men fell 169-54.
Junior
Candace Brown and senior
Christina Melchiorre paced the Cabrini women. Brown posted a victorious time of 26.46 in the 50 yard freestyle and posted a time of 1:05.03 to finish second in the 100 yard butterfly.
Melchiorre added a pair of second place finishes on the day, recording a time of 19:13.59 in the 1,650 yard freestyle and 59.48 in the 100 yard freestyle.
Sophomore
Betsy Czarkowski added a second place finish in the 200 yard butterfly, reaching the wall in 2:57.21. Sophomore
Marissa Loro also finished third in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events.
Senior
Hassan Goines led the Blue and White men, pairing first and second place finishes. The senior won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.43 before earning a second place finish in the 100 yard freestyle, posting a time of 52.35.
Sophomore
Ryan Brong scored a second place finish in the 100 yard butterfly. Junior
Nick Erick placed third in the 1,650 yard freestyle, while freshman
Alex Maiorana finished third in the 200 yard freestyle. Junior
Nicholas Vivian added a third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle.
The Cavaliers have little time to relax, as they will welcome Widener and King's Universities on Saturday. The action will get underway at 1pm at the Dixon Center Pool.
