Monroe, Mosley Lead Men's Basketball to 101-93 Win at Keystone

LA PLUME, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball team saw its 16 point first half lead wither away before rallying late to earn a 101-93 win at Keystone College.  With the win, the Cavaliers improved to 10-4 overall and 6-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Juniors Tyheim Monroe and DeVahnte Mosley paced the Cavaliers, combining for 66 points and 22 rebounds as the Blue and White broke the century mark for the first time this season.

Monroe scored a career high 35 points, connecting on 13-19 from the floor and 7-8 from the free throw line, to go with 13 rebounds.  Mosley also recorded a career high, posting 31 points on 11-15 shooting from the field and 9-13 from the free throw line.

After a slow start, back to back three pointers by junior Joe Mostardi sprung the Blue and White to a 7-0 run and a 19-5 cushion.  The lead grew to a game-high 16 points midway through the stanza on a Monroe jumper.

Cabrini's lead slipped away in the final minutes of the half, as Mark Gilliam's three pointer capped a 10-2 run for the Giants, pulling them within 45-44 at the half.

Keystone kept the game close in the second half, evening the score twice and gaining a slim 56-55 lead five minutes into the second half.

The Blue and White began to pull away again as Monroe's jumper at the 8:38 mark sparked a 10-0 run, as junior Kane McGovern's steal and Mosley's fast break dunk gave Cabrini an 86-73 lead with 5:55 to play.

The Cavaliers connected on 4-6 from the charity stripe in the game's final 40 seconds to seal its third straight victory.

Senior Ryan Charity paired eight points and four assists, while McGovern finished with seven points. Junior Deryl Bagwell secured eight boards in the win.

Gilliam hit 8-13 from the three point line en route to 35 points for Keystone (5-9, 2-6 CSAC) in the loss, while Perry Belcher added 24 points. Ray Miles chipped in with 19 points off the bench.

Cabrini will look to continue its win streak on Wednesday, as it visits Cairn University (2-11, 1-7 CSAC). Tip is slated for 8pm.
