RADNOR, PA – The Cavaliers nearly erased an eight point lead in the final 47 seconds of today's game, but a last second, game-tying field goal attempts fell short as the Cabrini women's basketball team suffered a 63-61 loss to Marywood.
Today's loss marks the Blue and White's first defeat in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, dropping the team to 8-1 in the league and 10-8 overall.
Six Cavaliers scored at least eight points on the day, with sophomore
Nomi Washington leading the way with 14 points. The sophomore also tallied a career high eight assists and four steals.

Myonie Williamson chipped in with 11 points. Senior

Meghan Matthews recorded eight points each, with liver securing a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Cavaliers struggled with their offensive touch from the opening whistle, shooting just 3-19 from the field in the first quarter. Despite the struggles, the Cavaliers kept the game close. A Marywood bucket in the final second of the period gave the Pacers a 14-11 lead after one quarter.
The game remained nip and tuck through the second quarter, as Marywood's lead ranged between 2-5 points. The Cavaliers pulled within two points late in the half, but a Pacers' jumper pushed their lead to 27-23 at the break.
Marywood pulled away in the third quarter, as a 10-0 run midway through the period pushed the Cavaliers' deficit to a game-high 41-28 with 3:27 left in the third. Skalski's jumper pulled the Blue and White back to within 43-37 with 14 seconds left in the quarter, but the Pacers struck late again, extending their lead to 45-37 with a lay-up in the final seconds of the third.
The Cavaliers mounted their comeback early in the fourth quarter, as a quick 6-0 spurt pulled the Blue and White to within 47-45 with 7:40 to play. Marywood returned the favor with sx points of its own, but a Skalski triple cut the lead back to 53-50 at the 3:17 mark.
The Pacers pushed their lead back to eight points, as it hit 8-10 from the free throw line in the final minutes.
Trailing by five, a Dodds' three pointer gave the Blue and White the momentum and pulled the club to 63-61 with 21 seconds on the clock. Following a Marywood timeout, the Cabrini defense forced a five second violation, giving the Cavaliers the ball.
The Cavaliers had one final possession, but a Cabrini jumper in the lane fell short as the final buzzer sounded.
Sophomore Gab Giordano led the Pacers (11-6, 7-1 CSAC) with 29 points, while classmate Alyssa Olson added 15 points off the bench.
Cabrini will return to action on Wednesday, as it heads to Immaculata University (5-12, 5-3 CSAC). Game time is slated for 6pm.
