Game Recap: Basketball (Men) |

5 in Double Figures, as Men's Basketball Tops Centenary 83-66

RADNOR, PA – Five Cavaliers scored in double figures tonight, as the Cabrini men's basketball team pushed its win streak to six games. The Blue and White improved to 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with its 83-66 victory over Centenary University.

Juniors Deryl Bagwell and Tyheim Monroe led the way, as the duo posted double-doubles.  Bagwell paired a game-high 18 points and a career best 12 rebounds, while Montoe recorded 14 points and 16 boards.

Sophomore Ivan Robinson notched 15 points, two more than junior DeVahnte Mosley, while senior Ryan Charity chipped in with 11 points off the bench.

The Cavaliers scored the first eight points of the game before the Cyclones battled back.  Cabrini never surrendered its lead, but Centenary would not allow the Blue and White to pull away.

Back to back Centenary lay-ups pulled the Cyclones to within 23-21 with 4:14 left in the half, but five Monroe points pushed the lead back to five.  Bagwell added a triple in the final seconds of the stanza to send the Blue and White into the half with a 33-27 lead.

The Cavaliers began to take complete control of the game at the 13:27 mark.  Another Bagwell three pointer sparked the Blue and White on a 19-4 run.  During the 3:26 span of the run, Centenary managed just five field goal attempts.

A Bagwell steal led to a three point play for Mosley, extending the Cabrini lead to 66-45 with 9:55 to play.

The Blue and White shot north of 46% from the field in the win, including 10-29 from the three point line, and recorded 18 assists on its 31 made field goals.

Defensively, Cabrini held the Cyclones to just 36.2% shooting from the field and 4-21 from three point range.

In a strange twist of scheduling, the Cyclones will only have to wait a few days for their shot at revenge, as the teams will meet on Saturday at 4pm in Hackettstown.

The Cavaliers will must first face Immaculata University (8-9, 6-4 CSAC) on Wednesday.  Game time is slated for 8pm as the second half of a women's and men's doubleheader in Immaculata, PA.  The ladies will open the action at 6pm.
