MOOSIC, PA – The Cabrini golf team posted a team score of 324 to close the first round of the Gino Biondi Memorial Tournament in sixth place out of eight teams.
The Cavaliers will enter Sunday's second round 15 strokes behind host Marywood University.
Junior
David Gall led the Blue and White with a first round score of four over par, 75, on the 6,339 yard course at Glenmaura National Golf Club, good for a fourth place tie.
Freshman
John Mallozzi also posted a top 10 score, as his 78 was good for a ninth place tie.
Senior
David Anders will enter Sunday's round tied for 24th after shooting an 83 today. Fellow senior
Nick Straub's 88 was good for 33rd place, while junior
Nick Alizzi is tied for 35th after shooting an 89 today.
Marywood closed the opening round with a one stroke lead over Rosemont and a two stroke cushion over Swarthmore.
Swarthmore's Dan Altieri posted an opening round score of even par, 71, to lead the individual field. York's Tyler Newton and Rosemont's Erik Diamond complete the top three after rounds of 72 and 74, respectively.
The teams will take the course at 10:30am for Sunday's second round.
