HAVERFORD, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team reached the 20 win mark for the ninth time in program history with today's two victories at the Haverford College tri-match. The Cavaliers topped McDaniel College 3-1 before scoring a 3-0 win over the host Fords.
With today's wins, the Blue and White improve to 20-4 overall.
Four Cavaliers recorded at least nine kills in the opener, a 25-23, 25-18, 17-25, 25-18 win over McDaniel. Freshman
Steph Judkins posted her ninth double-double with a match-high 12 kills and 11 digs. Seniors
Chelsea Jones and
Anne-Marie Jones added 11 kills each, a season-high for
Chelsea Jones.
Freshman
Morgan Collito narrowly missed a double-double, pairing nine kills and 12 digs. Fellow rookie
Olivia Blankenbiller directed the attack, posting 38 assists.
Junior
Ashley Shannon recorded a match-high 23 digs, while sister
Emily Shannon added 15.
Haley Mills led the Green Terror (15-5) with 10 kills, while Taylor Bauman notched 18 digs.
The Blue and White showed no let-up in the nightcap, rolling to a 25-20, 25-9, 25-20 win over Haverford.
Collito paced Cabrini in the win, as the rookie paired eight kills and nine digs with a season-high five service aces. Judkins earned team-high honors with nine digs, while
Chelsea Jones added seven and freshman
Lauren Coscia six.
Blankenbiller chipped in with 30 assists and three block assists, while
Emily Shannon's 13 digs were two more than Judkins.
Ashley Shannon matched Collito with nine digs.
Sara Matsumura paired 12 kills and 14 digs for Haverford (14-8).
The Cavaliers will return to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Tuesday, as they visit Cedar Crest College (14-4, 3-3 CSAC). First serve is slated for 7pm in Allentown, PA.
