Clarks Summit, PA - Eight different Cavaliers recorded a goal in today's lopsided 8-2 win over the Clarks Summit Defenders. The eight goals is a new season high for the Blue and White and was their most goals scored since a seven goal performance against Immaculata in 2015.
17 of the 24 Cavaliers that played also recorded at least one shot, led by senior
Taylor Tralie's four shots. Tralie picked up her team leading seventh goal, 10th assist and 24th point of the season in today's win as well.
Junior
Theresa Mignogna earned the start in goal on the afternoon, her first of her career, securing three saves and the win in the process.
Tralie and sophomore
Diana VanSickle gave the Cavs a comfortable early lead as their goals in the 8th and 10th minute set the tone early. The Defenders responded just three minutes later with a goal of their own to trim the deficit to just one.
Senior
Kelsee Tironi gave the momentum back to the Blue and White as she netted her second goal of the season with a 25 yard strike.
Sophomore
Leticia Sales picked up two quick assists thanks to back-to-back goals from freshmen
Aysiah Cintron and
Brittany Purdy in the 23rd and 25th minute, respectively.
Up 5-2 at the break, the Blue and White would tack on three more goals to make it 8-2. Freshman
Maria Hagan gave the Cavs their sixth goal of the afternoon via a penalty kick; Hagan's goal was her first of her career.
Sophomore
Maddy Wojton and freshman
Avery Murphy capped the scoring for Cabrini as they both notched their first career goals as well.
With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 9-2-4 overall and 7-1-2 in the CSAC. Cabrini will cap its' regular season this Thursday, Oct. 26th when they travel to Rosemont College. Game time is slated for 7pm.
