GLASSBORO, NJ – After cruising to victory in the opening two sets, the Cavaliers had to battle back to earn a 3-2 win at Rowan University tonight.
With tonight's 25-20, 25-8, 14-25, 25-27, 15-12 win, the Cabrini volleyball team improved to 15-4 overall, while the Profs fell to 9-11.
The Blue and White grabbed an early lead in the match, as it used a pair of 4-0 spurts to pull away in the first set. Holding a 16-14 lead late in the frame, the Cavaliers tallied four consecutive points to extend their lead to 20-14 en route to the first set victory.
Cabrini continued its momentum into the second set, as the club hit .571 during the set. Junior

Morgan Collito combined for 11 second set kills as the Blue and White built a seemingly comfortable 2-0 lead.
The Profs cruised to a third set victory on the strength of an 11-1 spurt midway through the set. While Rowan found its offensive rhythm, the Cavaliers lost theirs, pairing eightkills and eight attack errors in the frame.
Despite grabbing an early lead in the fourth set, the Cavaliers could not sustain their lead. Cabrini led 19-15, but the Rowan rallied to grab a 22-21 lead. The set score tied at23, 24 and 25 before a Blue and White error and Profs' kill closed the set.
Cabrini secured an early lead in the fifth and final frame, building a 9-4 lead. Rowan scored six of the next eight points to pull within 11-10. Both teams exchanged points before kills by senior
Chelsea Jones and Judkins sealed the victory.
Judkins paced the Cabrini offense with 16 kills, while Collito added 12. Fellow rookie
Olivia Blankenbiller notched 45 assists, while junior
Ashley Shannon finished with a match-high 19 digs.
Emily Shannon paired eight kills and 10 digs for the Cavaliers.
Megan Jacobi led Rowan with 9 kills, while Ern Keegan posted 17 digs.
The Cavaliers have little time to regroup, as they will return to action tomorrow morning. Cabrini will make the short trip to Chester, PA for a tri-match at Widener University. The Blue and White will face the host Pride (6-14) at 10am and Stockton University (12-6) at Noon.
