Radnor, PA - Twelve Cavaliers scored on the day as the Blue and White secured their first CSAC victory of the season, 81-53, over the visiting Immaculata Mighty Macs.
The rookie duo of
Kate Lannon and Lexi Edwards led the way offensively as they tallied 14 and 12 points, respectively. Edwards added six rebounds and five assists in her 27 minutes of action. Junior
Nomi Washington made her presence felt during her 18 minutes as the Phoenixville, PA native racked up 12 points, three boards and three steals.
The Blue and White shot a season high 48.3% from the field, including 50% from long distance, all while holding the Mighty Macs to 37.7% from the field.
A big first quarter in which the Cavs racked up 23 points featured a 10-0 run to end the first stanza. Senior
Kate Skalski knocked down two huge threes to spark the run and give the Cavs the momentum heading into the second quarter.
The second quarter was much more tightly contested as both teams consistently knocked down shots to keep things close. A pair of threes from Skalski and and sophomore
Cassidy Gallagher ended a short 6-0 run for Immaculata and kept the Cavs up 16 heading into the halftime break.
Up 38-24 early in the third quarter, the Cavs put the game away with a crushing 21-5 run to balloon the lead to 59-29 with just under two minutes left in the quarter. Washington sparked the Cav's run as the junior downed the first 10 points, highlighted by two baskets from beyond the arc.
Freshmen

KK Pollard and
Brianna Blair all tallied baskets in the games closing minutes to secure the first points of their careers.
With the win the Cavs improve to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the CSAC. The Blue and White will next take the hardwood on Wednesday, December 6th when they travel to Cairn University to take on the Highlanders. Game time is slated for 6pm.
