RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's lacrosse used a dominant first half to even its record at 2-2, as it scored a 16-7 victory over Widener University Pride tonight at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
Junior
Sasha Wozniak led a balanced Blue and White attack that recorded 47 shots, including 28 on target. The junior recorded five goals and secured three ground balls. Sophomore
Avery Murphy made the most of her home debut, tallying five points on three goals and two assists to go with eight draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Fellow sophomore
Liz Hoeffner added three goals and an assist, while senior
Jess Breuning stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, an assist, seven ground balls, five caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Freshman
Lauren Hughes tallied a pair of goals, while senior
Jen Robinson added one.
The Blue and White also forced a season high 17 turnovers and secured a season high 30 ground balls. The quartet of sophomores

Emily Crouse caused two turnovers each, while 13 different Cavaliers recorded at least one ground ball.
Senior goaltender
Megan Barlow matched a season high with seven saves to seal the win.
Wozniak put the Cavaliers ahead early, scoring two goals in the game's opening four minutes. With the score tied at 2-2, the Blue and White found its offensive rhythm, exploding four six unanswered goals.
Hoeffner scored all three of her goals in a span of just over five minutes, as Cabrini built a n 8-2 cushion with 6:56 left in the first half. Widener sophomore Kelly Lynch snapped the run, but the Cavaliers began another 15 seconds later.
Murphy, Hughes and Breuning added to the lead in the final minutes of the opening stanza, as the Cavaliers carried an 11-3 cushion into the half.
Cabrini outshot Widener 30-8 and saw Widener commit 13 turnovers in the game's first 30 minutes.
Despite the comfortable lead, the Blue and White showed no let-up after the break, as Breuning, Murphy and Wozniak netted unassisted goals to extend Cabrini's lead to 14-3 with 19 minutes to play.
Sophomore Kristi Rohrer led the Pride with two goals and two assists, while freshman Melanie Bert added a pair of goals. Senior goaltender Grace Morales paired 12 saves and seven ground balls in the loss.
The Cavaliers have little time to enjoy tonight's win, as they will open Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Saturday. The Blue and White will welcome Marywood University (3-2) to Edith Robb Dixon Field at noon.
