RADNOR, PA – For the second consecutive year, the Cabrini men's lacrosse team got off to a slow start against SUNY Cortland and it cost the Cavaliers in the end.
The No. 11 Red Dragons scored the game's first four goals and built a 7-1 lead after the first quarter, as they sent No. 13 Cabrini to an 18-13 loss today at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The Blue and White trailed by as many as seven goals midway through the third quarter, but closed the frame an impressive offensive run to climb back into the game.
Cabrini scored five unanswered goals over the final 7:04 of the period, including a pair of man-up goals by sophomore
Timmy Brooks and sophomore
Bill Morgan. Morgan's goal goal came in the final minute of the stanza and pulled the Blue and White to within 12-10 with 15 minutes to play.
Despite Cabrini seeming to own the game's momentum, Cortland scored the first two goals of the final period before sealing the victory with four goals in a three minute span midway through the fourth to regain its seven goal cushion at 18-11.
Freshman

The Blue and White (5-3) have a few days to regroup before beginning a string of three consecutive road games next Saturday at Keystone College (0-6, 0-1 CSAC) at 4pm.
