Women's Lacrosse Extends CSAC Streak with 14-1 Win over Cedar Crest

RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team cruised to its 43rd consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference win today at Edith Robb Dixon Field, as it scored a 14-1 win over Cedar Crest College.

The Cavaliers' fifth straight victory improved the club to 6-2 on the year, while the Falcons fell to 0-3.

Cabrini outshot Cedar Crest 35-2 on the day, including 25-1 in the first half.  The Cavaliers also won 15 of the day's 15 draws.

Sophomore's Liz Hoeffner and Avery Murphy paired two goals and two assists each, as 11 Cavaliers marked the scoring column.  Freshman Lauren Hughes scored twice, while junior Sasha Wozniak paired a goal and a helper.

Junior Gabby Lee and sophomore Emma Rodner-Tims also found the back of the net, marking their first tallies of the season.

Murphy and Hoeffner also shared game high honors with four draw controls, one more than senior Jess Breuning.

Murphy added four ground balls to her line, while juniors Sara Johnsen and Alex Petrongolo and freshman Shannon Fichter scooped three each.

Rodner-Tims, Murphy and Fichter also joined junior Emily Crouse with a pair of caused turnovers.

The Blue and White's trio of netminders, senior Megan Barlow, sophomore Devon Scharf and freshman Noelia Ramirez were not called on to make a save on the day.

Senior Regina Gill scored the lone goal for the Falcons on a second half free position shot, to go with a pair of draw controls and two caused turnovers. Junior goaltender Kristen Payes notched 10 saves in the loss.

The Blue and White will step out of conference play on Wednesday, as they visit Swarthmore College (5-1).  Game time is slated for 7pm.
