SWARTHMORE, PA - The Cavaliers nearly saw their five goal cushion slip away in the game's final 15 minutes, but in the end, the Cabrini women's lacrosse team hld on for a 12-11 victory at Swarthmore College.
The Blue and White improved to 7-2 with its sixth consecutive win, while the Garnet fell to 5-2.

Allie Vallen scored her second goal with 14:56 to play, pushing the Cabrini lead to 11-6. The Garnet responded with a pair of woman-up goals, pulling to within 11-8 with 11:26 on the clock.

Sara Johnsen briefly stopped the Swarthmore run with her third goal of the campaign, pushing the Blue and White lead back to four goals with 4:28 on the clock.
Swarthmore tallied the final three goals of the game, pulling within 12-11 with 27 seconds to play. With the momentum squarely on the Garnet bench, sophomore
Avery Murphy recorded the final of her five raw controls to seal the victory.
Murphy paced the Cabrini offense with five goals, while Vallen and freshman
Lauren Hughes scored two goals each. Senior

Megan Barlow notched three ground balls each, while Wozniak paired two ground balls with two caused turnovers. Sophomore

Barlow recorded a season high 10 saves to earn the victory.
After surrendering an early goal, the Cavaliers responded with three of its own to take a 3-1 lead 10 minutes into the action. Swarthmore tied the game at 3-3 and 4-4 before Wozniak, Murphy and Vallen scored to give Cabrini a 7-4 lead at the half.
Murphy added three goals in the opening eight minutes of the second half before Vallen's second goal pushed the lead to 11-6.
Tess Wild led the Garnet with five goals and seven draw controls, while Elizabeth Wainright chipped in with four goals.
Cabrini will return to action on Saturday, as it visits Gwynedd Mercy (1-6, 1-1 CSAC). Game time is slated for 5pm.
